ASHLEY KELLY-TATA
Ashley works primarily as a theatre director but is also a keen dramaturg and theorist. She has recently directed a reading of Lagronová's Miriam at the Space for The Internationalists, a reading of Antígona Furiosa by Griselda Gambaro, and a production of Stephen Belber's Through Fred. She has also She has also recently traveled to Ukraine to attend the International Bulgakov Arts Festival in Kiev and worked with the OBIE, Drama Desk and Lortel Award-winning Classical Theatre of Harlem assisting the OBIE, Drama Desk and Lortel Award-winning Classical Theatre of Harlem assisting OBIE Award-winning director Christopher McElroen on CTH's acclaimed production of Marat/Sade and worked as a dramaturg on CTH's (The Blood) Electra directed by Alfred Preisser. Other recent directing work includes The Bacchae and the annual Ides of March reading of Julius Caesar with the Hudson Warehouse, My Children! My Africa! with United Artists of Color Theatre and the original play Sensory at Manhattan Repertory Theatre. She was the co-director of Palehorse Production's Innovative Theatre Award-winning Othello (with Artistic Director Rob Eggers), and has assisted Off-Broadway for the Jean Cocteau's production of Romeo and Juliet (director Rod McLucas). A graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, she is the Founder and Artistic Director of Enthuse Theatre, attendee of the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab and is currently pursuing her MFA in Directing at Columbia University.
