MATTHEW STEPHEN SMITH
Matthew Stephen Smith is a playwright living in Brooklyn, NYC. His most recent play, Endoftheworld Lovesong, was performed at the Flea Theater under the direction of Jeremy Bloom. Other plays including Night in the Land of Gracious Living, Shiver Meek & Mute, and Daedalus/Myth have been performed through PANOPLY PERFORMANCE LABORATORY (under the direction of Esther Neff), PROSPECT THEATER, and Chicago's REMY BUMPPO THEATER COMPANY. He graduated with a B.F.A. in Theater Performance from the University of Michigan, and an M.F.A. in dramatic writing from Northwestern University, where he also taught screenwriting. He is now developing his new play, 7 Ways to Mourn the Dead.
