Panoply Performance Laboratory (PPL) is a project space at 104 Meserole Street in Brooklyn, NY.
PPL Space is a four-year investigation into curatorial, critical, performative, and organizational practices. Beginning as a residency through Spread Art (now based in Detroit) in 2012, and evolving into an attempt to construct a situation in which
1.) uncommodifiable work operates within cycles of generosity and exchange
2.) everyone present is considered as participant
3.) academic, non-profit, and other institutional frames for art are re-imagined and 4.) performance art, curatorial and social practices are considered as social theory, the current form (PPL Space as a fully-operational artspace) will conclude June 1, 2016.
PPL co-directors are Esther Neff and Brian McCorkle, click HERE for more about PPL. The space is also affiliated with Valerie Kuehne and her project The SuperCoda. The current artist-in-residence is Kaia Gilje.
