PPL is a flexible performance collective, philosophy thinktank, and organizational entity. Founded by Esther Neff, PPL has taken forms of project site (2009-2012 at Surreal Estate, 2012-2018 at 104 Meserole St in Brooklyn, 2018-2023 in St. Louis, MO), touring band, curatorial committee, grantmaking org, temporary autonomous university, orchestra, natural history museum, greasy spoon diner, scientific laboratory, and so on. PPL's operas-of-operations, art, and broad spectrum sonic, sculptural, textual, institutional, theoretical, political, and social performances have been materialized multiplicitly in many different contexts, from gas stations, basement, bowling alleys, and public libraries through museums and academic conferences.
