VIA OUR (SUBJECTED AND CONDITIONED)
SENSATIONS + PERCEPTIONS
1.) Pamphlets subjectively devised from PPL's previous affaction research operations are distributed during the 5-day Rapid Pulse International Performance Art Festival in Chicago, IL, June 1-5, 2016. During this festival, a single performer, wearing a protective apron, skull helmet, and carrying the live Affaction Research Center, invites those present to materialize "affacts" of situations, performances, and event elements, providing a blank pamphlet and pen in exchange for a piece of material collateral. Center participants then chart affects carried/materialized by their own sensations, interpretations, and perceptions across and throughout any location/temporality during Rapid Pulse. Participant collateral is returned when pamphlet is returned to the Affaction Research Center. Performer carrying Affaction Research Center also witnesses/experiences as much of Rapid Pulse as possible, performing durationally (45 hours of performance situation en total).
2.) Pamphlets are scanned online and published online HERE.
3.) The performer of the Affaction Research Center memorizes and interprets the pamphlets and draws on their own experiences to generate a score for an abreactive, exorcising affaction. See score and video of the abreative affaction performed privately (without live audience) HERE.
